The Pirates released their 2011 schedule Tuesday, and highlights include an interleague visit from the Boston Red Sox for the first time since 2003.

The season will open with a six-game road trip against the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis, with the home opener Thursday, April 7 against Colorado. The season ends with a three-game road trip to Milwaukee.

Other American League teams coming to Pittsburgh are Baltimore and Detroit. The Pirates will travel to Toronto and Cleveland to round out the interleague schedule.

The longest homestand is in June, with three games against Philadelphia, three against Arizona and four against the New York Mets. The longest road trip is 10 games in late August and early September.
