The Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta is searching for a temporary home because the state park it uses is being renovated.

Point State Park, the former site of historic Fort Pitt, cannot be used this summer.

One site under consideration is space on the city's North Shore, between Heinz Field and PNC Park. The other is Station Square.

"I think it's a great place for the event. I think it's a natural fit for us," said Thomas Schneck II, the director of marketing for Station Square, a shopping and entertainment complex in a refurbished train station along the Monongahela River.

Festival organizers said they hope to pick the new location soon. The regatta is tentatively scheduled for the June 30-July 1 weekend.
