Cops: Gun pulled on golfer on Butler County course when ball lands in yard
State police in Butler say a man pulled a gun on another man during an argument over a golf ball Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. at Bonniebrook Clubhouse and Golf Course in Summit Township.
A 42-year-old man from Butler was playing golf at the course when he hit a golf ball in the direction of another man’s residence, according to a news release from state police.
When the man attempted to get his ball from the other man’s yard, the two got into an argument. During the argument, state police said Gerald Wayne Miller II, 55, pulled out a pistol and threatened to harm the golfer with it.
Police did not identify the golfer.
Miller was advised not to contact the golfer, the news release said. As of Sunday, he was to be cited with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
