Region's officers, troopers honored for efforts to stop DUIs

Four area police officers and 15 state troopers from the region will be honored by the Pennsylvania Driving Under the Influence Association for their efforts in stopping drunken drivers.

The four -- who will be recognized at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the organization's annual meeting in Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset County -- are Officer David Bujakowski of Bridgeville, Patrolman James Falconio of Pleasant Hills, Traffic Officer Darryl Hankins of Braddock Hills and Patrolman Guy Kuzak of Cecil, Washington County.

The troopers are Samuel Nassan and Michael Piccini, stationed in Moon; John Weaver and Patrick Bradley, Uniontown; Erik Cox, Meadville; Matthew Evans, Ebensburg; Jeffrey Flowers and Paul Tononi, Somerset; Eric Miller, Mercer; Christopher Robbins and Ronald Vetovich, Kittanning; Scott Smith, Indiana; Robert Thompson, Girard; James Gregg, Greensburg; and Jeffrey Wirth, Belle Vernon.
