A group of retired Pittsburgh Post-Gazette printers have settled their federal lawsuit that claimed the company reneged on a 1998 early retirement program that guaranteed them free lifetime health insurance.

The company unilaterally violated that agreement in October 2010 when it announced that they would have to start paying for part of their insurance, the lawsuit said.

Attorneys for both sides today filed a motion to dismiss the case, but the motion doesn`t provide any details of the settlement.

Tybe Brett, one of the retirees` attorneys, declined comment but said that all members of the group have signed off on it. She said the group included 'roughly 100' retirees.

Chicago attorney Amanda Sonneborn, who filed the motion on behalf of PG Publishing, Block Communications and the other respondents, couldn`t immediately be reached for comment.
