Rocker Ted Nugent says he plans to become an official Texan in 2005.

Nugent, a native of Michigan, told the Jackson Citizen-Patriot in his old home state that he plans to keep his house in Concord, rebuilding it and using it as a base for hunting trips and visits to his family. But he moved his wife and children to a home in Crawford more than a year ago, a place he describes as right around the corner from President Bush's ranch.

In the interview, Nugent called himself a "100 percent Bush supporter."

He also said that Crawford is a great place for someone with his passion for hunting -- "Right behind Rocco's school is game. It's a barbecue dream."

Nugent told the newspaper that he and his wife have started "Hunters for the Hungry," a program supplying venison and other game to the needy. He also writes for a state magazine on bow hunting.

The rocker planned to spend Christmas in Michigan preparing for a "Whiplash Bash" tour next year, followed by a hunting trip with Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
