The Greyhounds (10-5, 7-0) kept their mercy rule run in the section alive by rolling over host Jefferson-Morgan, 89-40, Tuesday night.
Monessen has sent ever section game this season into the 40-point mercy rule while averaging over 83 points per game.
The Greyhounds took a 24-10 lead after one quarter and then upped it to 50-18 at halftime and the rout was on.
Five Monessen players hit double figures, led by Justice Rice and Dwight Moore with 17 points each. Lavelle Rush scored 15, Jaden Altomore 12 and Noah Rullo 11.
Altomore had all 12 of his points in the first half while Rice scored 11 of his 17 and Rush 11 of his 15.
Altomore added eight rebounds and four steals while Rush had eight rebounds and five assists. Moore and Noah Yartin each had seven rebounds.
Jeff-Morgan (8-7, 3-5) got 12 points each from Rece Henneman and Austin Clark.
Steel Valley 55, BV Area 47
The Leopards (5-9, 1-8) battled hard before coming up short to Steel Valley in Section 4-AAA.
The Ironmen, co-leaders in the section with West Mifflin and Uniontown, held a shaky 37-34 lead going into the fourth quarter.
BVA was led by Travis Snyder with 11 points.
Steel Valley (10-5, 8-1) was led by Kennedy Smith with 17 points while Dom Keyes had 12 and Dylan Smith 10.
L. Highlands 65, Ringgold 59, OT
The Rams (5-10, 2-7) broke out of their scoring slump, but still came up short in overtime in Section 4-AAA.
The loss was their fifth straight.
Anthony Pampena led Ringgold with 17 points, followed by Nico Law with 15 points and 14 from George Martin.
LH (10-7, 5-4) got 17 points from David Rusko and 13 from Jake Swartz.
Ringgold trailed 48-38 going into the fourth quarter before outscoring the hosts 14-4 to force overtime at 52-52.
Ringgold travels to Waynesburg tonight for a nonsection game.
California Area 74, Avella 37
The Trojans (9-4, 6-1) hammered Avella in Section 3-A as Tray Matthews scored a game-high 17 points, Kass Taylor added 16, KC Zajicek added 14 and John DeFranco finished with 12.
California rolled out to an 18-6 lead after one quarter and held a commanding 43-18 lead at halftime.
The Trojans host Bentworth 6 p.m. tonight in a nonsection contest.
Waynesburg 51, Bentworth 29
The Bearcats (6-10, 2-6) fell behind 16-6 after one quarter and never recovered in Section 4-AA.
Angelo Rios-Lopez scored 12 points for Bentworth.
Waynesburg (11-4, 6-2) was led by Mitch Warman's 17 points.

Bentworth 42, Waynesburg 21
Bentworth (8-7, 3-5) doubled up Waynesburg in the Section 4-AA game as Grace Marchezak scored a game-high 20 points.
