Route 22 accident injures 1

A New Alexandria man was in stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian Saturday, following a two-vehicle accident Friday evening along Route 22 in Salem Township.

According to police, Larry Sharp, 33, attempted to pass a vehicle driven by Kevin Whitaker, 36, of Cresson, at 6:35 p.m. Sharp lost control of his vehicle, struck a center cement barrier, then struck the side of Whitaker's car and slid back into the cement barrier, reported state police at Kiski,

Sharp was transported to the Pittsburgh hospital by helicopter.

Whitaker was not injured, according to police.
