Northbound lanes of Route 28 near the Harmar exit are reopened after a multi-vehicle traffic accident shut the road for hours.

Initial reports from Allegheny County 911 said that a vehicle had traveled southbound in the northbound lanes at about 11:45 p.m.

Police radio transmissions indicated that several vehicles were involved, and at least two people were being treated.

At least one medical helicopter was summoned to the scene.
