KITTANNING TOWNSHIP -- State police said there were no serious injuries when a tractor trailer and a tri-axel truck collided on Route 422 at Theater Road at 6:35 a.m. yesterday forcing police to close the road for nearly two hours.

Police said Thomas Motley, 28, of Oil City pulled a Mack truck tractor onto Route 422 from Theater Road into the path of a truck driven by Gene Nelson Reesman, 65 of New Bethlehem RD1 causing Reesman's truck to collide with the tractor then strike a utility pole.

Police said both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Motley was not injured and Reesman was treated at the scene by Kittanning Hose Co. 6 ambulance personnel at the scene for minor injuries. Police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT and Allegheny Power.

Mike Grandillo, spokesman for Allegheny Power, said there were no power outages as a result of the accident. Allegheny Power crews finished the chore of changing power lines over to a new pole by 2 p.m.

Police said a traffic citation will be filed against Motley for stop signs and yield signs violations.
