Russia Wednesday rejected U.S. State Department assertions that it has not kept its agreements to control the flow of weapons.

"Such accusations are not new," Interfax reported of the online statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry said Russia has commented more than once "on sections of similar 'studies' that listed Russia among principal 'violators' of non-proliferation agreements indiscriminately and without citing any facts.

"We are forced to state that this State Department document is not very different," the ministry's statement said.
