For more than three years, the massive Supervalu building has remained empty, vacated by the company's decision to move its local food distribution center and operations to its New Stanton site.

The Westmoreland County Industrial Development Authority is marketing the 750,000-square-foot building, located along one side of Finley Road in the township.

But on the opposite side of Finley Road, a dealership with strong ties to the area has moved in.

Tom Clark Sr., president of Tom Clark Chevrolet Inc., said his company purchased the property formerly owned by Supervalu early this year and created Tom Clark Cavalier Coach RV.

His firm has been in the RV and van business for 25 years.

"The property was appealing to me because of the service facility," Clark said. "It makes it very easy to pull RVs and vans in. There are 12 to 16 big service stalls in which to work on vehicles."

Sales offices are also located in another building on site. Twenty employees work at the Finley Road complex.

Together, the sales and service facilities encompass about 22,000 square feet on the roughly nine-acre site.

Tom Clark Cavalier Coach RV sells motorhomes, travel trailers, and pop-ups.

A second Cavalier dealership is located on Route 30 East in Irwin.

Tom Clark Chevrolet's main location is on Route 48 in McKeesport.

But the dealership has a significant business presence in Westmoreland County.

Tom Clark Ford is located on Route 30 East in Greensburg. Tom Clark Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/ Subaru is on Route 51 North in Belle Vernon.

Tom Clark Motorsports sells Honda and Suzuki motorcycles, ATVs and personal watercraft on Route 51 South, Belle Vernon.

Clark said the move into Westmoreland County has been good for his company.

"It's been very good to me because of the growth and because of the access roads to get in and out," Clark said.

Clark said because the new Tom Clark Cavalier Coach RV dealership is located just off Interstate 70, it provides easy access for customers from throughout western Pennsylvania and even into Ohio.

Although Tom Clark Chevrolet has expanded greatly in recent years, Clark said further expansion is possible.

"We're always looking to expand," Clark said. "We're doing well as far as expanding."
