Samurai sword used in Florida killing

A 25-year-old Orlando, Fla., man allegedly used a samurai sword to kill his girlfriend, police said.

Authorities say Christopher Dunsmoor apparently killed Fawn Sue Trivette, 28, after an argument in their apartment Wednesday, the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday.

Police were searching for a motive.

"Somebody wasn't happy with what somebody did, and we're not sure what it was," said Sgt. Rich Ring of the Orlando Police Department.

Police said Dunsmoor admitted stabbing Trivette with a knife during the argument, then killing her with the samurai sword about an hour later, after she was still making noises.

"The defendant stated he did so because he did not want the victim to suffer," Dunsmoor's confession report stated.
