Here we are again in the Yough School District facing another tax increase. It's never a matter of if we are going to face an increase, it just how much it's going to be. This year it's 4 mills, bringing our property tax rate to 67.75 mills (one of the highest around).

Does the school board wonder why new construction in the school district is not high on a potential homeowner's priority list• It's our extremely high tax rate.

Can any of our elected school board members learn to work within a budget• Here's a hint: Spend only what you have to work with.

If the district is facing increased health care premiums, pay them, but say "no" to any salary increases.

How can the district increase the salaries for principals and other administrators by 4 percent• By hitting the taxpayers for 4 mills.

Yough School District residents should remember who is saying "yes" to these constant tax increases when those people's terms are up. Get out and vote next time.
