Scott police are making plans to upgrade their vehicles to better interact with Allegheny County's new 911 system.

Police Chief Jim Secreet asked township commissioners to approve purchasing three touch-screen computers at a total cost of $9,000.

"It's going to affect every department in Allegheny County: police, fire and ambulance."

Commissioner Tom Castello said money was moved around in the police budget to pay for the computers.

Secreet said officers currently rely on their radios to receive all dispatch information.
