Just a friendly reminder – there is free parking in the borough until Christmas, Dec. 25. So happy shopping to everyone. If you are looking for a place to put the money you would have “fed” the meter, there is always the Salvation Army kettle.

I have a great idea for you. The Scottdale Community Pool has compiled a “Wish List.” All it takes is a call to the aquatic director, Carol McCovich at 724-887-0667 and a copy of the list can be mailed or faxed to you. The range of gifts goes from infant life jacket to a wet ball goal.

We are celebrating Christmas on Wednesday. I hope the “Reason for the Season” has been kept foremost in your mind. Sometimes the dollar sign representing all the money spent to make someone happy is not the only gift you can give. A greeting and a sweet smile is a wonderful gift to someone who lives alone. It is equal to the most costly gift you purchased with your credit card. Take a bit of your time, sit down, drink a cup of your favorite beverage and mediate on this year’s blessing.

I wish a very merry, merry Christmas to all my lovely readers. God bless you one and all.

Walker is a Scottdale resident.
