  • Leading scorer: C Joe Thornton (23 goals, 35 assists, 58 points)

  • Goaltender: Steve Shields (10-8-3, 2.64 goals-against average, .903 savepercentage)

  • The skinny: RW Martin Samuelsson, scoreless five games into his NHL career, was bumped up to the Bruins' first line at Wednesday's practice, along with Thornton and LW Glen Murray. RW Mike Knuble was dropped to the second line with C Jozef Stumpel and LW Lee Goren … Thornton didn't play in the Pens' 2-1 win Jan. 13 at Boston … LW Michal Grosek (ankle) returns to the lineup but LW P.J. Axelsson (sore back) remained in Boston.
