A 54-year-old Scoutmaster in Rapid City, S.D., has been arrested on 20 counts of possession of child pornography, authorities said.
Charles Edwin Helland was arrested at his home and was being held on a $10,000 bond, the sheriff's department said in a statement.
Helland's arrest was the outcome of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a multi-agency task force, the news release said.
Helland is the Scoutmaster of Troop 48 of the Boy Scouts of America in Sioux Falls . He has been a Scout Leader for eight years, the report said.
The report said there is no indication at the moment that the defendant had been involved in any sexual contact with children.
