Scozio Enterprises revamps executive team
Scozio Enterprises has reorganized its staff, naming Mark Scozio president; Ken Rozzell vice president-general manager; Frank Porco Jr. vice president-director of operations; and Andy Popojas vice president-director of merchandising. Ray Wojtowicz and Jim Faith were named vice presidents-directors of operations at Scozio's Save-a-Lot and Festival stores, respectively. Mark Scozio has 20 years of experience in the grocery business. Rozzell spent 29 years with Thorofare and Giant Eagle before joining Scozio 15 years ago. Popojas joined Scozio in 1977 and Porco began work in the grocery business in 1974. Faith spent 40 years working for Kroger, Fleming and Food Lion. Wojtowicz has 18 years of management experience, 15 gained while an employee with U.S. Steel.
BANKING-FINANCE
Mellon Financial Corp. promoted Jeffrey J. McSteen to first vice president. He is a business development officer for Mellon Private Asset Management in Pittsburgh and joined the company in 1994. In addition, David L. Merritt, vice president and product design manager of Mellon Global Cash Management's eCommerce group, was named chairperson of the Internet Council of NACHA, a not-for-profit trade association that develops operating rules and business practices for the Automated Clearing House Network and for other areas of electronic payments.
Jeffrey W. Tott and Yvonne Campos were named to the board of directors of Pittsburgh Financial Corp. and BankPittsburgh. Tott is president and chief executive officer of Specialty Bar Products Co., a unit of Blairsville-based FabriSteel Products Inc. Campos is president-owner of Campos Market Research of Pittsburgh.
U.S. Bank named Craig E. Morrow regional vice president and portfolio manager for the Centre County region. Morrow has 14 years of banking experience and worked from 1992-95 with the former State College-based United Federal Bank. Most recently he was regional vice president-divisional executive officer of Main Street Bank in Doylestown.
John H. O'Brien was named east regional sales manager for National City's nationwide home equity unit. He has 15 years of wholesale mortgage experience, having worked for Philadelphia Mortgage Corp., Preferred Mortgage Corp. and InterFirst Wholesale Lending.
PNC Advisors named Grant Duffield vice president and senior business development officer in PNC Advisors' Institutional Investment Group in Pittsburgh. He comes to PNC from the Muhlenkamp Fund, where he was director of marketing and communications. He joined Muhlenkamp & Co. in 1994 as a marketing representative and client service specialist.
ACCOUNTING
Joseph E. Morando was named head of Arthur Andersen's Pittsburgh office tax division. He was named a partner of the firm in 1996 and has 16 years tax experience. He joined Arthur Andersen in 1985.
Pittsburgh-based Stokes & Hinds hired Grant McLaughlin as a member when the firm recently merged with McLaughlin & Courson. Also hired were Brian McLaughlin as tax manager; Stacy Lynn Esser and Stephen W. Zanardelli as staff accountants; Randy Thornton as a manager; and Greta Kelly as marketing director.

Attorney Andrew P. Cross was hired at Houston Harbaugh, where he will handle issues involving corporate law. He is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College. He comes to the firm from Williams Coulson, where he practiced corporate and tax law for two years.
Richard J. Kabbert was named an associate at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, where he will concentrate on matters involving health law and medical malpractice. He will also assist the firm's products liability and appellate groups.

Maiello Brungo & Maiello hired Michael O'Rorke as an associate attorney. He'll focus on matters involving corporate and business law, banking and creditors' rights. He most recently worked as counsel for Dollar Bank and oversaw Dollar Bank's branch banking network in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Craig M. Miller was hired as senior art director and Ahmed Bey was named graphic and Internet designer at Levy Industrial. Miller was a senior designer at UPMC Public Relations and Bey was a graphic designer at IDL Inc.

Anthony R. Savannah joined St. Barnabas Health System's marketing and public relations department as a marketing specialist. He graduated from Geneva College in 1995 with a degree in business administration.
Catherine C. Thompson , president of Mt. Lebanon-based Sterling Care Counseling, has been named to the board of directors of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. She is also a social service consultant to Mellon Bank's Trust Department.
Judy Glas , an occupational therapist for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Sewickley, received certification as a hand therapist after passing the national board examination for hand therapy. She works from the company's rehabilitation center at Edgeworth Commons.
Albert W. Biglan, a pediatric ophthalmologist, and University of Pittsburgh educator Gregory A. Morris were appointed to the faculty of Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children in Pittsburgh. Biglan has specialized in treating children with retinopathy of prematurity and other blinding conditions. Morris is a teacher, reading specialist and supervisor of reading.

MediaSite Inc. appointed Steven Randall Olson vice president of software engineering. Olson, who joined MediaSite from Eastman Kodak, brings 27 years of product development and information technology experience to his new post. Olson served in a number of other product development and information systems management positions at both Kodak and Kodak spin-off Eastman Chemical Co.
Cranberry Township-based Penn Telecom Inc. hired Charlotte Hoffman as a key system engineer and Nicki Curran as a warehouse coordinator. Hoffman will work from the company's Butler center. Curran worked at Butler Equipment Co.
Michael J. Wheeler was named vice president of marketing for Canonsburg-based Ansys Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience and worked for Parametric Technology Corp., Rasna Corp., Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Swanson Analysis Systems Inc., Ansys' predecessor company.
ServiceWare Technologies Inc. hired Michael Chaplo vice president of sales and marketing, and product management, and Chuck Rudisill vice president of business development. Chaplo comes to ServiceWare from priceline.com and AT&T Corp. Rudisill was managing director of Tran@ctive Partners and also worked at Mastech.
Premier Technology Inc. hired Jim Tranchine as chief financial officer. He has more than 22 years of financial services and manufacturing experience and worked as controller and CFO of American General Corp.

Xceed Consulting Inc. of Pittsburgh named John A. Nau senior manager of Infrastructure for its information technology practice.
Jennifer Zimmerman was hired as the artist market coordinator for the Three Rivers Arts Festival's 2001 season. She worked as program coordinator of the Oakville Arts Council in Ontario, Canada.
