Sept. 18 said to be date of CW launch
An affiliate of the new CW television network has accidentally let it slip that the WB/UPN hybrid will launch on Sept. 18.
Pappas Telecasting put out a news release describing Walla Walla, Wash., station KAZW-TV as the company's Azteca America affiliate that will add The CW to the station's programming lineup "beginning Sept. 18," TVWeek.com reported Thursday.
The new Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corp. network had been expected to launch in September, but repeatedly refused to give out an exact date.
A CW spokesman would not confirm Sept. 18 as the launch date.
Fox's new MyNetworkTV, which is filling in some of the gaps left by the loss of UPN programming, has announced its debut will be Sept. 5.
