Bruneau

Private Beau Alan Bruneau, son of Al and Debra Bruneau of Applewold, graduated Oct. 17 from basic training with Gulf Co. 281st Armor Division at Fort Knox, Ky.

He is now training as an information technology specialist wtih Bravo Co. 447, 15th Signal Brigade at Fort Gordon, Ga., for a total of 20 weeks.

Bruneau is a 2008 graduate of Grace Baptist Academy.

Harkleroad

Navy Seaman Apprentice William H. Harkleroad, son of Kathy A. and Edward C. Harkleroad of Kittanning, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Harkleroad completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

The capstone event of boot camp is "Battle Stations." This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet.

Harkleroad is a 2006 graduate of Elderton High School.

Wonderling

Navy Seaman Recruit William W. Wonderling, son of Sherri Wonderling of Ford City and William Wonderling also of Ford City, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
