Craig

Air Force Airman Shane A. Craig has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree relating thorough the Community College of the Air Force.

A son of Vince Craig of Dayton, and brother of Penny Kamody of Pittsburgh, he is a 2008 graduate of Lenape Technical School, Ford City.

Harmon

Army Pvt. Alisa M. Harmon graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. on Jan. 23.

During the 10 week of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Pvt. Harmon is taking an Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course in Fort Eustis, Newport News, Va., where she is training to be an aviation power plant mechanic and will graduate June 10.

A 2008 graduate of Lenape Technical School, she is the daughter of Bobbie Harmon and Sam Harmon, both of Kittanning.
