Seven Norwegian marine vessels were attacked by pirates last year, newspaper Aftenposten reported Wednesday. Small bands of pirates also attacked several foreign ships with part Norwegian ownership, the newspaper said. Indonesian waters were the most dangerous, the scene of 93 of the world's 325 total acts of recorded piracy during 2004. Nigerian waters were a distant second with 37 attacks. The International Maritime Bureau said the Southeast Asian tsunami disaster caused a temporary pause in regional piracy at the end of 2004, but attacks began again in early March. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
