Sex educator says 5 a good age to start

The head of a Norwegian sex education clinic says that kindergarten is not too early to start telling children about where they come from. In an interview with the P4 radio station, Siv Gamnes, head of the KSO clinic, said that by the time teenagers start getting sex education in school they have acquired a lot of misinformation. "We have to 'un-teach' them before we can start teaching them," she said. Gamnes said that 5-year-olds are generally curious about where babies come from and why little girls and boys are built differently. She suggested that is not too young to start giving them the facts, simply but accurately. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
