British record producer Andrian Adams is auctioning his share of the Britney Spears single "Everytime" on eBay.
"I thought this would be a groundbreaking thing to do," said Adams, who owns 7 percent of the gold single from Spear's 2003 album "In the Zone," E! Online reported.
Adam claims he has personally made $60,000 through his investment.
He said he is selling his share on eBay because Spears rejected his offer to buy him out. He doesn't want to wait for quarterly royalty checks and he wants "a chunk of money" now, E! said.
Adams opened bidding last week at about $26,000, privately hoping it would go as high as $125,000. But with only an hour left on the auction Wednesday, the highest bid was just short of $32,000.
Adams said he has not heard from Spears, but her lawyers let him know "they weren't happy about it."
