Connellsville Planning Commission on Tuesday reviewed a request from Sheetz Corp. to extend the company's permit for construction of a new service station and store at the corner of Route 119 and West Crawford Avenue.

“They're asking us to grant an extension on their permit,” said Tom Currey, city zoning and health officer. “Unfortunately they are not going to be able to start construction (of the building) in the time frame before the permit expires.”

According to Curry, the company will begin demolition of the buildings that were purchased for the expansion along with other work. Currey said the company had asked that the permit be extended until March 2016.

Commission chairman Nick Tzan made the motion to grant the extention, which was seconded by Brent Rockwell and passed unanimously.

The board also approved 10 items:

• A pool requested by Keith McCarney at 615 Trump Ave.

• A pool requested by Carol Cunningham at 104 E. Patterson Ave.

• An enclosed porch requested by Sean Black at 105 Watt St.

• A fence requested by Geary Witt at 802 Morrell Ave.

• A fence requested by Robert Shandorf at 1206 Race St.

• A pool requested by Stephanie Hunter at 325 S. Pittsburgh St.

• A pool requested by Steve Rugg at 1118 Vine St.

• A pool requested by Timothy Watt at 205 S. Ninth St.
