Connellsville Planning Commission on Tuesday reviewed a request from Sheetz Corp. to extend the company's permit for construction of a new service station and store at the corner of Route 119 and West Crawford Avenue.
“They're asking us to grant an extension on their permit,” said Tom Currey, city zoning and health officer. “Unfortunately they are not going to be able to start construction (of the building) in the time frame before the permit expires.”
According to Curry, the company will begin demolition of the buildings that were purchased for the expansion along with other work. Currey said the company had asked that the permit be extended until March 2016.
Commission chairman Nick Tzan made the motion to grant the extention, which was seconded by Brent Rockwell and passed unanimously.
