The Winnipeg Human Society in Manitoba is offering Canadians steep discounts on the adoption fees for black cats this Friday the 13th.
Seventeen adult black cats will be offered on this superstitious date for $20 each, instead of the usual adoption fee of $64, which covers a health checkup, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, deworming and a microchip ID planted under the surface of the animal's skin, CBC News reported.
The society says its facilities are stretched to capacity with stray cats, caring for more than 5,000 every year.
