Question: I was reminiscing with an old friend the other day when we were struck (faintly) by a blast from the past.

It was a TV show that we were enamored with as kids (20 years ago maybe), but it must not have lasted long, because we can't find anyone else who's heard of it. We vaguely remember a few details -- it starred Richard Mulligan from "Soap," who played some kind of advertising guru. Can you help• Is there any way to see this show again (DVD?) to prove we're not crazy?

Answer: Sounds like "Reggie," a sitcom that had a brief run on ABC in 1983. It was based on the BBC series "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin."

Mulligan played the eccentric Reggie Potter, whose fantasy life was much more active than his real one. Barbara Barrie played his wife, Timothy Busfield played his son, and Timothy Stack played his son-in-law. Nobody watched except you and your friend. The end.

Oh, wait -- it's not on DVD. The end.

Q: My husband saw a movie about 25 years ago. It was set in Hollywood in the 1920s and was about a dog like Rin Tin Tin. I have looked for a place to buy it with no luck. Can you help?

A: The movie is 1976's "Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood." It's a not-very-impressive movie with an impressive cast, including Madeline Kahn, Bruce Dern, Phil Silvers, Art Carney, Teri Garr and Edgar Bergen.

Q: About 10 years ago I remember watching a TV series about a young senator in Washington who tried to do the right thing, and most of the time he would run into the old Washington establishment or some type of roadblock. I remember he was a handsome man with dark hair. I've never seen the star after this series. Any ideas• Would it be on DVD?

A: Sounds like "Mister Sterling," which ran on NBC in 2003. Josh Brolin played Bill Sterling, who was appointed to fill the term of a deceased senator. The cast also included William Russ and Audra McDonald.

Since then, Brolin has been a busy fella, but on the big screen rather than the tube. His most recent film credits include "American Gangster," "In the Valley of Elah" and "No Country for Old Men."

Q: I very much like the series on Fox called "K-Ville," starring Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser. I haven't seen it in a while. Can you tell me if it has been canceled?

A: Sorry, "K-Ville" has been canceled. It's been reported that Anderson might be a regular on "Law & Order" next season.
