There were no injuries Monday when someone opened fire inside a vacant house in Moon.

Investigators still aren’t sure if the person was firing at someone or just shooting a weapon in the home in the 1100 block of Kings Lane, township police Chief Leo P. McCarthy said. Officers were called at 6:41 p.m. after a neighbor accused a man — later identified as Robert Hopkins, 20, of Moon — of having a gun outside the house.

About 20 minutes later, as officers from a number of neighboring communities were arriving to help township police surround the area, an officer spotted Hopkins and Mike Stewart, 22, of Moon, walking near the home. Hopkins was charged with reckless endangerment and related crimes; Stewart with public intoxication.

A .45-caliber handgun was found inside the vacant house. Rifle shells were found outside the home.
