Singer, actress and reality TV star Jessica Simpson says all the rumors swirling about her marriage to Nick Lachey sent her to a therapist.

"I respect knowledge of the psyche," she told Teen People magazine. "I would be a therapist (if I weren't an entertainer)."

Simpson said she is still with Lachey, but constant media talk of a marital split can't help but affect their relationship.

"You can't not be affected by it," Simpson said. "Communication between us is very important. Without it, the voices in the head start. It's hard to reflect upon (our relationship), but that's because the story's not done yet.

"Hopefully our story will continue for the rest of our lives, like what we vowed -- through sickness and in health. At the end of the day, you've gotta find happiness. I believe that we'll achieve it."
