Yough senior Nicole Sleith had a hard act to follow coming off back-to-back one-hitters.

It didn’t turn out to be a problem for one of the WPIAL’s top pitchers.

Sleith tossed a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and no walks in the unbeaten Lady Cougars’ 6-0 Class AAA Section 4 win over visiting Indiana.

The no-hitter was the 11th for Sleith, the school’s all-time winningest pitcher with 47. It was her 35th shutout.

Sleith has 67 strikeouts in 28 innings this season and has allowed only one run.

Yough (4-0, 3-0), which was limited to five hits by Hannah Harley, did all the scoring in the fifth inning.

Shyanne Sanders’ two-run homer opened the scoring with Karlie Tomich adding an RBI double.

Yough is scheduled at Uniontown Monday.

BVA 10, Thomas Jefferson 0

The Lady Leps snapped their two-game losing skid in convincing fashion in five innings in Class AAA Section 3.

Haley Bashada (5-2) tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks and helped herself at the plate with two singles and three RBI.

BVA (5-3, 2-1) scored three runs in each of the first two innings and a pair in both the fourth and fifth to end the contest early.

Deanna Hileman paced the Warriors’ 13-hit attack with three singles and two RBI.

Molly Gauden drove in two runs with a double and single, with Natalie Bashada adding a pair of singles.

Holly Scapes singled and drove in a pair.

The Lady Leps go to Ringgold Monday.

Ringgold 7, West Mifflin 4

The Lady Rams (3-2, 2-1) used a six-run second inning for their second Class AAA Section 3 victory in as many days.

Sarah Lutz, Natalie Karpinsky and Amanda Manko each had two singles for Ringgold.

Freshman Celina Cantini scattered 12 hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

Elizabeth 6, South Park 4

The Lady Warriors knocked the Lady Eagles from the unbeaten list after overcoming a 3-1 first-inning deficit.

Elizabeth (4-4, 2-1) went ahead to stay with a three run third.

After a bad start, Liz Paterra settled down to toss a five-hitter.

Megan Sorton led Elizabeth’s seven-hit attack with a triple and two singles.

Elizabeth is home with Thomas Jefferson Monday.

The Lady Greyhounds were no-hit by Kiersten Conwell in five innings in Class A Section 1.
