SoHo, TriBeCa priciest U.S. neighborhoods
The Manhattan areas of SoHo and TriBeCa are now the most expensive neighborhoods in the country in which to rent an apartment.
A loft with the square-footage equivalent of a three-bedroom unit in the trendy area now rents for more than $6,000 a month, the New York Post reported.
Across Manhattan, prices for the smallest lofts have increased by 22 percent since 2003, averaging $1.5 million. Large lofts now average $2.9 million, up 35 percent since 2003.
The average price of a townhouse below 14th Street has gone up 49 percent in two years, up to $4.7 million.
