Opera star Rebecca Evans performed for a crowd of wealthy bankers and celebrities at a Welsh National Opera performance at Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The Welsh soprano sang operatic arias, classical songs and lighter pieces Wednesday at the Hermitage Hotel, an event sponsored by a WNO supporter, the private bank Coutts & Co., for its top clients, Britain's Western Mail reported Thursday.

Welsh multi-millionaire artist Andrew Vicari, an friend of Evans who now lives in Monaco, attended the concert, along with bankers, industrialists and former Formula One racers.

Evans will return next spring to WNO in the role of Pamina in a new production of Mozart's "The Magic Flute."
