Noteworthy: Bonasso designed and crafted the first-place entry in the Pennsylvania Jeweler's Association Seventh Annual Jewelry Design Competition, Professional Category, last month. This was his first entry in the design competition. His ring will now represent Pennsylvania in the Jewelers of America's National Affiliate Design Competition, to be held in New York City in February.
The ring: A 1.11 carat Aquamarine and .48 total carat weight of round diamonds set in 18-carat white gold. Retail value is about $3,000.
