Southbound Route 28 in O'Hara Township has reopened after a minor landslide.

Several boulders made it over a jersey barrier near the O'Hara-Harmar border and onto the roadway at about 11:40 a.m. The area is south of the fenced off section of the cliff along Route 28 in Harmar.

PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said emergency crews responded and managed to move the boulders to the shoulder.

The roadway reopened just before 12:30 p.m. No accidents or injuries were reported.

“There's always concerns because we're getting a lot of wet weather, rain and snow melt,” Cowan said. “With the freeze-thaw cycle, there's always the possibility of another rock coming down from the hillside. We want motorists to be aware there could be another slide, but we never when or where.”

If drivers see a rockslide, they should call PennDOT at 1-800-FIX-ROAD, or 911 if there is an immediate travel hazard.
