A bridge under construction in southern Spain collapsed Monday, killing half a dozen and wounding three others, El Mundo reported online.

The section of bridge that collapsed was more than 200 feet long and 35 feet wide, said local officials.

The section of bridge fell 150 feet onto construction workers below in a ravine, killing the six. One other worker was unaccounted for later Monday.

Reports said the cause of the collapse was under investigation.
