A Fathers 4 Justice campaigner was arrested in Britain Saturday after spending 18 hours on top of the London Eye, causing the ride to shut down.

David Chick, clad in a Spider-Man costume, voluntarily came down from the wheel. The protest was meant to call attention to the fact that Chick has not seen his daughter in 12 months, a fact he blames on unfair treatment by his former partner and the courts.

He had scaled the structure early Saturday morning, prompting the company running London Eye to launch a security review.

Scotland Yard said Chick was taken to hospital for a medical check-up. They said he would be questioned once discharged from hospital. They said it was as of yet unclear how he managed to scale the ride.

Fathers 4 Justice was set up by fathers who have either no access, or very limited access to their children, and claim they have been treated unfairly by courts.
