YMCA of New Kensington will host a youth basketball league for ages 12-13. Play starts Jan. 11. Early registration is due by Jan. 1. Cost: $28 for members and $58 for nonmembers. SOCCER

Tri-City Soccer is accepting player applications for the spring 2003 season until Jan. 15. Registration forms can be picked up at Peoples Library in Lower Burrell and New Kensington or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Tri-City Soccer, Box 2155, Lower Burrell, Pa. 15068. BASEBALL

A Power Hitting Baseball Camp for players ages 8-18 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 11 at the Fralic Center in Penn Hills. Contact: 724-453-1400.

BASKETBALL

The annual Elks Hoops Shoot hosted by Leechburg BPOE Lodge 377 will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 11 in the Leechburg High School gym. The event is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Age division is determined by age as of April 1, 2003. The competition is open to all children in the Alle-Kiski Valley. Contact: Doug Graham at 724-845-8590. An annual Knights of Columbus Free-throw Shooting Contest will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Deer Lakes Middle School. The event is open to Deer Lakes students ages 10-14.
