South Park Cycles will conduct a “Train With The Pros” Clinic with Dave Bittner and Ian Olson at 7 p.m. June 4, June 11, and June 25. Participation costs $10 for 1 1/2 hours of instruction on jumping techniques, turns, manualing, gate starts and pump races. One-on-one instruction is also available. Basketball Camp Jeff Ackerman’s Moon Boys Basketball Camp will run in two sessions from July 8-12 at Moon High School. Session 1, for ages 7-10, is from 9 a.m.-noon. Session 2, for ages 11-14, is from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $50 per camper, and includes a camp T-shirt. Ackerman and his coaching staff will serve as instructors and Tigers players will be camp counselors. Instruction will focus on shooting, ballhandling, passing, rebounding, defense and free-throw shooting. The seventh annual Big Red Basketball School Summer Basketball Camp will start soon. Tournament The Premier High School Basketball Tournament Directors have announced a tournament for August 5-11. The format includes 48-64 teams. Games will be played in and around Philadelphia and West Trenton, N.J. The tournament is open to any club, high school team, or group. Boxing Event The PRO/AM Boxing Show will be June 1 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. The featured professional boxers will be “Fast” Eddie Chambers, Joe “The Whip” Wyatt, Shadena “Put em’ To Sleep” Pennybaker, and Mr. Lee Crossland. Hockey Tryouts Plum Hockey Association is beginning another season and tryouts are scheduled in August. Triathlon Race The Friends of the Riverfront Pittsburgh Triathlon and Adventure Race will be July 14 at North Shore Park. The triathalon course consists of a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run. The Adventure Race course will include a 12-mile bike, a 2-mile canoe/kayak, and a 3.2-mile run. Triathalon fees are $50 per individual, $90 per team (three-person only). Adventure race fees are $40 per individual, $30 per person per team (two-, three- or four-person teams). Packet pick-up will be July 13, from 9am-5pm at North Shore Riverfront Park.
