Springfield Township supervisors have been spending their days repairing township roads — without doing any paving or resurfacing.

Supervisor Ken Johnson said Supervisor William Striner is working on filling potholes on dirt roads with gravel while he and Supervisor Ross Miner are working to fill in pot holes on paved roads with cold patch.

Funds for road maintenance were quickly depleted early this year with the harsh winter that required, at times, round-the-clock snow plowing and road salting.

In other business, supervisors passed a motion to open an electronic account through PennDOT so township secretary Donna Kooser can access liquid fuels information and funds.
