St. Clair Hospital said it started construction of a $5.5 million addition housing three new operating rooms at its main facility in Mt. Lebanon.

The 7,249-square-foot addition is slated to open this summer.

With construction of the new operating suites and the elimination of an existing, smaller operating room, St. Clair’s number of operating rooms increases to 13.
