Five-star recruit Steven Adams, the 7-foot, 240-pound center from New Zealand, made his official visit to Pitt this past weekend.
Adams, ranked as the No. 2 power forward and the No. 4 overall player in the Class of 2012 by Rivals.com, attended the Panthers' game against Cincinnati at Petersen Events Center on Sunday night.
Wearing a black letterman's jacket, Adams sat behind the Pitt bench with the families of Pitt's players. He was well received by the Oakland Zoo fan section.
Because it is a violation of NCAA rules for Adams to talk to the media during an official on-campus visit, he was not available for interviews.
Adams, who attended Scots College in Wellington, N.Z., is the centerpiece of Pitt's Class of 2012. He recently came to the United States and will enroll at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., for the second semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
Along with DeMatha (Md.) point guard James Robinson, Pitt's two-man recruiting class is ranked No. 7 in the nation.
