Steel Valley School District officials are looking for two new principals.
School directors last week accepted the resignations of Park Elementary's Lauren Baughman, who also was coordinator of elementary education, and the middle school's Melissa Cheslock.
Baughman's is retroactive to June 19. Cheslock's is effective on a mutually agreed upon date, directors said.
Superintendent Ed Wehrer said Baughman accepted a job with Fort Cherry School District and Cheslock left for a position at Gateway School District.
Baughman was principal for three years, Cheslock for about six years.
Wehrer said the positions will be posted. A timetable for hiring replacements has not been set.
The board appointed Kimberly Glinka as a speech and language therapist/teacher and Susan Wilder as an instructor in the home/homebound special education teacher for the 2015 extended school year at a rate of $32 per hour.
Barb Hurley was appointed as a floater teacher at the substitute teacher rate for the 2015 extended school year program. Meaghan Collins was approved for the supplemental position of assistant cheerleading coach for the 2015-16 school year, pending receipt of clearances.
Michael Hofbauer resigned as varsity golf coach.
Ed Colebank, the district's director of academics, information and technology, said he will purchase four 65-inch interactive televisions to improve communication at the high school. They will be placed in the lobby, cafeteria and other locations.
Colebank said they can be used for announcements and professional development.
