The Steelers have added offensive tackle Jeremy Parquet to their 53-man roster and released defensive tackle Scott Paxson.

Parquet's signing from the practice squad all but assures that starting left tackle Marvel Smith (back) won't play in the Steelers' 1 p.m. game Sunday against the Bengals.

Max Starks is slated to start for Smith.

The 6-6, 315-pound Parquet has been with three different teams during his four-year career, and he finished last season on the Steelers' 53-man roster.
