The Steelers said an employee violated club and NFL policy by sending an "inappropriate e-mail" from a work computer to several people last week.

The Steelers did not release the name of the employee or detail the contents of the e-mail.

According online blog ProFootballTalk.com, first-year offensive line coach Larry Zierlein accidentally forwarded a pornographic video to all of the NFL general managers, their secretaries and commissioner Roger Goodell on Friday.

In a statement from team spokesman Dave Lockett, the Steelers said "the sender has been warned about the policy violation. The sender has issued an apology to all of the recipients."

In April, the NFL announced a new personal conduct policy that states, in part, that "club and league employees will be held to a higher standard than players. Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL will be subject to discipline, even if not criminal in nature."

Lockett refused to comment further on the e-mail.
