Steelers release preseason slate
Steelers tickets for 2005 are going the way of gas prices — up.
Season ticket holders have received notices of increases for the 2005 season. Although the team declined to release its complete ticket structure for the next season, one ticketholder reported receiving an invoice calling for an increase to $55 a game from $50 for his seats.
Steelers president Arthur J. Rooney II issued a written statement Wednesday regarding the price increase:
“The Steelers have raised ticket prices for the 2005 season. Our average ticket price in the non-premium seating areas will still be less than $60 per game, which is a good value in today’s entertainment market.”
The team also announced yesterday that it will make two prime-time national television appearances during the 2005 preseason.
The Steelers’ Aug. 15 home game with Philadelphia, a Monday night contest, will be televised by ESPN beginning at 8.
Also, the Steelers’ Aug. 26 game at Washington, an 8 p.m. Friday contest, will be televised by FOX.
“We are excited about our preseason schedule in which we have an opportunity to play in front of a national audience on two separate occasions,” Rooney said.
The Steelers’ preseason schedule:
Aug. 15: Philadelphia, 8 (ESPN)
Aug. 20: Miami, 7:30 (KDKA)
Aug. 26: at Washington (FOX)
TBA: at Carolina (KDKA)
