Stephfon Green a 'maybe' for PSU/Michigan

• Penn State backup running back Stephfon Green is a "maybe" for Saturday's game against Michigan, according to Penn State coach Joe Paterno. Runnin back Evan Royster left last weekend's game against Minnesota in the second quarter and never returned. "Green has a chronic ankle that gets loose on him once in a while," Paterno said. "We're going to see if he can do something."

• Paterno said Brent Carter should be ready to go, but if he isn't and Green isn't ready, Brandon Beachum will step in.

• Ako Poti will again start at right tackle this week in place of Nerraw McCormack, who missed the past two games with an ankle injury.

• Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier took limited snaps this past weekend against Delaware State but expects to be 100 percent Saturday. Forcier suffered a concussion two weeks ago in Michigan's 30-28 loss to Iowa. "I'm real excited just to be completely healthy going into the game," Forcier said.

• Forcier is no stranger to Penn State. The Lions were his No. 2 choice before he committed to Michigan. "Penn State was my other top school so it'll be interesting to play against them," he said. "It was pretty close. The thing that sold me was coach (Rich) Rodriguez and his staff. Our coaching staff is unbelievable."

• Penn State is last in the Big Ten in kickoff return average with 15.43 yards per return, but Paterno isn't too concerned with the special teams unit yet. "I think it's a combination of we've not had the opportunity because people have not scored a lot on us so we have not had a lot of chances to return kicks; that's number one," Paterno said. "And number two is the guys kicking off have done a pretty darn good job."
