Stone convicted in five DUI deaths

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A Monongalia County jury convicted Brian J. Stone this afternoon on all 25 counts he faced for the deaths of five people in a drunken car crash on Interstate 68.

The convictions include driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI causing death, DUI causing injury and leaving the scene of an accident involving death and injury.

Stone injured seven others the July 8 wreck near Morgantown.

His car was loaded with beer, deputies testified during his trial this week, and Stone had a blood alcohol level of 0.23 percent, three times the state's legal limit for driving.
