The beanbag is a welcome addition to a college dorm, where the bed and desk chair just don't cut it while watching TV. The freshmen who tried it plumped it into comfortable forms. They claimed it even provided a decent nap, because it's firm and supportive. The big blob probably could serve as a pseudo–bed for a pal looking to crash for the weekend.

The biggest challenge was finding a place to stash it. It's light enough to toss onto the bed for quick floor space, but for now, the sneaker collection has moved elsewhere, and there's a spot for it under the raised dorm bed. It's looks to be waterproof, too, in case drinks get spilled.

A colleague who saw it in the newsroom plopped into it and claimed all it needed was a beer holder. Moms everywhere are glad that feature wasn't included!

It's big, it's squashy and, if you're 10, it's a whole lot of fun. But if you're not quite as limber as the average 10-year-old, the Sumo Omni Bean Bag Chair is probably not for you.

There's no easy way to get on and off this thing. Plus, it took up a majority of the floor space in my living room. My daughter loved rolling around on it, but even she struggled to get out of its clutches at times. It did work well for her as a gaming chair in front of the TV. She could sit up relatively straight with a complete back behind her. We actually could both sit on it facing opposite directions.

But, unless you have some really big rooms, this thing is just a monster.

If you let a beanbag chair into your home, can a lava lamp be far behind?

This is how it starts, boys and girls.

Never mind — this accommodating piece of malleable furniture comes in 10 colors. This updated version of the beanbag chair is soft but durable, although the very nature of this beast still means that its much easier to sit down in a beanbag chair than it is to get out of it. But it molds comfortably to the contours of the body, while the material doesn't cause you to sweat the way some synthetic materials do.

I found it best for naps, flopping on my back and letting it whisk me to the Republic of Unconsciousness. This chair could double as a portable bed for houseguests. It is that comfortable.
