"There seems to be a profound mistrust of the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress," says political guru Charlie Cook. "(It's) a sense that, at best, this president and Congress lack an understanding of small business. But among many, it goes much further than mistrust. They see Democrats in Washington as hostile forces that could implement policies that would effectively destroy their businesses," Mr. Cook adds. Translation: All that "change" has been shaken from their pockets and now President Hope is going after the paper money. ... Fox News Channel talk-show host Glenn Beck continues to take heat over his remark that Christians should leave their churches if their pastors start preaching about "social justice" and "economic justice." Mr. Beck says such phrases are code words for communism and Nazism. Actually, he's not far off the mark. The more precise "ism" would be "socialism." ... The Toledo, Ohio, Block Bugler editorializes that it's time to give health-care "reform" legislation "life by passing it ... with as few gimmicks as possible." So, "gimmicks" are OK in attempting to ram through legislation that raises the cost of health insurance, increases taxes and seizes one-sixth of the American economy• Addlepatedness never has been on such gross display.
